On December 8, 2004, the first wind-solar hybrid generation system in China was successfully connected 

with the local 10KV power grid at Huaneng Nan’ao Wind Farm and formally put into commercial 

operation. The 100KW solar photovoltaic equipment used for the system is the first solar photovoltaic 

system of China now connected with the power grid and put into commercial operation. During the test, the 

local power grid management department found the quality of the photovoltaic electric energy fully meets 

the state standard. The successful construction of the demonstration project has opened up a new channel of 

combining wind energy with solar energy resources and is a sign that China has entered a new stage in its 

development and utilization of solar photovoltaic generation. It will provide technical and managerial 

experience that can be used for reference in the construction of large-scale commercial wind-solar hybrid 

projects.
